In the 3rd project period the previous working groups "Demonstrators" and "Data structures and information storage" are merged together to form the working group "Demonstrators and data structures". This working group deals with the determination of requirements regarding the developed technologies within the CRC 653 and their integration into a new collective demonstrator. The analysis of the information flows within this demonstrator and the assessment of the functionality by generating technical indexes are still part of the working group.
The aim of the 3rd project period is the realization of a new form of production, called Gentelligent production. During this production, Gentelligent parts are manufactured by using Gentelligent machine tools. Another special feature of this production is the information feedback from the use phase into the construction and the manufacturing process.
